That’s a pretty arbitrary measure. If 6 gallons is too much
why isn’t 4? Or why isn’t 6 appropriate for a large family? Or a different number? I’ve seen fully stocked milk sections at all the stores I’ve been to for the last 10 days, although some did have a 2 gallon limit, but at this point, it’s just a preference and there seems to be enough to accommodate that particular preference.
