I’ve wondered about this too. Are those who die of pneumonia as a flu complication different from those who develop pneumonia from CV? Don’t hospitals use ventilators and ICU beds as flu victims progress toward death?

For one thing, our capacity is based on the norm, so when you stack this thing on top of the flu, we start to overflow.

The flu doesn’t spread quite as quickly so the curve is already flatter
