Plato Intervention Needed
We do limit people's ability to travel by
having speed limits and rules of the road, requiring drivers licence. We agree overall. But this question is different.
If we could save 30,000 deaths annual by scheduling, in advance, a week lockdown for everyone, say between Christmas and New year's, I think we'd strongly consider it.

Planning like that would seem impossible, but if we could guarantee to save those lives, I'd consider it. We would try to limit disruption, etc.
