To that end....I absolutely despise how Marriott does rewards hotels today. Points should be dynamic much like airfare miles redemption is. If no one is going to your Category 8 hotel, there is zero reason for it to be 75,000 points a night. Drop it down to 40,000 and you'll be shocked at what happens. People still spend $ at your property when they use points. In fact, I tend to spend way more on property when I use points than when I pay cash for the rooms.
