Has anyone seen articles or information on when the best time is to get tested for COVID?
I assume that it takes some time for the Virus to replicate in you before you test positive after the exposure.
So if you have been someplace with possible exposure, when is the best time to get tested? 3 days later? 5 days later?
Likewise, there is probably a time when testing is too late ... either you are too sick for it to matter OR your body already dealt with the infection and you are no longer infected.
As we start to restart everything that the panic shut down, we are going to need to better understand how to test to minimize any future outbreaks as we start opening things up.
Just wondering ....
For example ... as kids come home from colleges to their hometowns from areas that might have had exposure ... should they get tested as soon as they get home in order to know if they need to be self-quarantined.
All the returning Missionaries ... when do you test them.
I need to go get my Daughter from Rexburg in the next little while. Leaving a country with to date NO cases, to drive to a place with cases. When would be right time to try and get tested ....
OF course, this assumes infinite testing capacity, which we don't have ...
but looking forward .... eventually we let travel to/from New York .... just sitting around for 14 days to see if anything happens is not going to work long term, but testing people as they come home might not be long enough to know if they got anything.
Just wondering if anyone has read anything about testing optimization
