While I was told it was a 5-7 day turnaround, I've seen results come back in 3
days. Still, you are correct that a confirmed case usually happens a few days after a person is tested, which happens about 5 or so days after the person is infected (average time to see symptoms), so you are looking at 1-2 weeks from the time somebody is infected to the time they actually have a positive test.
