All about guards. The NBA has long been about SFs, and college has plenty of big men. Why is it that every draft has a bunch of big men at the top?
Sure these aren't the days of Sabonis and Shaq and Divac and these monsters, but that doesn't mean the game is all about guards. Maybe they're scoring more but that doesn't mean the game is all about them. I'd argue the game is about more and more forwards learning to step out and shoot.
College will have even more big men contributing because they can be more effective in the college game. You think it's about guards? Gonzaga disagrees. Duke disagrees. Michigan State disagrees. I think guard play rules the smaller schools, but not the bigger ones.
Aside from all of this, you're trying to break it down by position when basketball is becoming more positionless. It's about athleticism and versatility. It's about guards being able to play multiple spots and bigs playing multiple spots.
If you don't see the value in a 6"11 250 energy hustle man, and a 6'10 shooter who can handle the ball, I don't know what to say.
