face more often than you otherwise would, in order to adjust it, or whatever, then it is NOT helpful to wear it. Touching your face is the worst thing one can do, that's an easy way to contract the virus. If you put it on, and leave it alone, don't touch your face, then it will MARGINALLY help.
Also, the reason the CDC and other orgs are hesitant to recommend using masks is they don't want people to then have a false sense of security that they don't need to shelter in place, or practice physical distancing.
