RE: Thanks Utah!

Unfortunately, many hiking trails and other outdoor spots are crowded (As was mentioned in the abc.4 article in the original post.)  I live in the SF Bay Area, and so many of the hiking trails here had become extemely crowded; no social distancing being practiced and hardly possible.  I do agree that some of these closures might be smashing a gnat with a sledgehammer and unnecessary, but who really knows?  I don't what's prudent and what is going overboard.

Regardless of which course of action is really needed, for our sanity and peace of mind, it might do us well to think to ourselves:
"If not being able to recreate outdoors for a while is the worst I have to endure, I'll survive."  I work at a golf course and play for free 2-3 times a week.  Golf seems to be an appropriate and safe thing to do right now, but my course is closed.  While I'd really like to play, I can be grateful that I'm not sick.  I can't change the fact that this avenue of recreation is not available, so looking at it that way makes it a bit more palatable to me.
