My accountant said I should wait since I am shut down now and staff is furloughed. She said the money needs to be used in 8 weeks for payroll, rent, etc. in order for forgiveness and since I am not operating and there is no payroll it does not makes sense to get the loan and have it sit. She said wait till I am about to open then get it. Then I will be able to use it for payroll and stuff within the 8 weeks.
This makes sense to me but a lot of other people saying to get it now before it’s gone. Accountant said it probably will run out but not to worry because Trump will go to congress and get more. There is bipartisan support and the government does not want more unemployment and failing businesses so don’t worry about it running out.
Part of me just wants to apply and make sure I get something since this whole situation so fluid and can change day to day.
What are others thoughts on this situation?
