So he was arrested for lying about his connection with WUT and the CCP

What's missing from that Snopes article (but what was included in the news report and FBI press conference) are the arrests of his Chinese contacts trying to smuggle vials of Coronavirus into China at the airport.

In other words, by ignoring the arrests, Snopes did nothing to refute the possibility of a connection.
