What rate? The incidence rate per million people, or the death rate? Because
Germany's incidence rate — the prevalence of the disease in the population — is significantly higher than the US rate.
Germany = 100,024/83,000,000 * 1,000,000 = 1,205
US = 335,524/330,000,000 * 1,000,000 = 1,016
Now the death rate is lower, but there are suggestions that might be due to the way they are counting deaths.
