Schools would be the first thing I'd open back up...

Kids of course can still get this virus, but typically experience very minor symptoms. Children are the lowest risk group for hospitalizations and death followed by young adults. It's crazy to me that schools ever closed in the first place and while Universities continue online (a reasonable measure that makes sense to protect professors and staff), it makes zero sense to close down dormitories and residence halls based on the actual data. The concern is that the kids and young adults will spread it to high risk adults, but people in the high risk category (ie over 70 or over 50 plus obeses/diabetic/smoker) should assume everyone is infected and take self-quarantine precautions accordingly. Children in the care of a high risk individuals should be given the flexibility to homeschool and wait it out or make arrangments to stay with another family member through the end of the year if possible. Instead, we are treating our entire population like they will react to this virus the same way as a 75 year old chain smoker. It's absolutely deadly for that group and should be taken even more seriously by them, but for the majority of people this virus is not that big of a deal and I don't understand why the measures don't consider achieving herd immunity among the low risk groups who will not overwhelm the healthcare system.
