You could maybe argue that playing 4-5 P5 opponents causes injuries, etc but Kalani also has the benefit of playing a lot of low level opponents as well (Liberty, UMass, NMSU, etc).
If anything the argument should be made that playing 4-5 P5 opponents isn't good for BYU to achieve goals such as finishing ranked or nationally relevant.
Also, BYU averaged more P5 opponents from 2011-2015 (4.8) than they did from 2016-2019 (4.5).
