There is no difference in proximity to patients as I said
In her case she has been called in to act as a dental assistant when somebody has gotten hit in the mouth or has an emergency endo tx - she has been needed because the doctors normal dental assistant is staying in a different state with her parents.

It matters because a dentist is needed for dental emergencies and there are no dental hygiene emergencies.
