If the NCAA goes to Conference-Only, Who will BYU Play

The talk is reducing the NCAA to 8 games, with no non-conference games.  I'm certain that BYU and the other independents are working on this contingency.  Here is how I see the schedule.

There are 6 independents and 1 sort-of indedendet.  Notre Dame is the sort-of and it is unclear if their 6 ACC games would happen.  Let's say that they do.  Notre Dame will have 2 other games to fill out.  Army will be one of them, as Notre Dame-Army is an old tradition and the Irish usually play one of the service academies.  Navy is on ND's schedule this year, but the Goats are in the AAC.  Notre Dame will lose their game against USC, and will likely come to Provo to get a game out west.

No matter what happens, Army-Navy will play, I guarnantee it, even though Navy is in a conference.  Army will have 6 other games to schedule.  They like to go to recruiting hot-beds.  Las Cruces is not a recruiting hot bed for the Army, but it is close to Ft. Bliss.  40-40 Army comes to Provo.  40-40 BYU goes to Mitchie Stadium.  It is also possible that USU and BYU still happens.  USU gives up Air Force so that they can play against Army.  Possible that BYU does not play Army at all.

Because of proximity, BYU and New Mexico State will play a home and home.

There will be one other home and home series...My guess is Liberty.

Under this scenario, here is my best guess, 4 home games...Notre Dame, Army or Utah State, New Mexico State and Liberty.  Four road games...New Mexico State, Liberty, UMass and UConn.

Better than nothing.
