That is a direct quote from the report Fauci cowrote and published in the New England Journal of Medicine.

Tell me, were the baseball seasons postponed in 1957 or 1968? Were colleges and schools shutdown nationwide? How did we survive those earlier severe flu years when we did so little back then to thwart infections?
