I'm amazed at how many definitive conclusions are being drawn in both directions
Even "experts" in epidemiology, statistical modeling, biochemistry, and doctors are still learning new things everyday about Covid-19. But every time I see someone with a related-background speak an opinion or share some findings, educated lay people, MSM, and politicians want to leap to iron-clad conclusions.

Not only is this awful scientific practice, it's counterproductive. Good scientists know when to say they don't know, that they can't over-interpret the data. But everyone is so freaked out and wanting answers right away, that they take the commentary on a study or two and run with it. No one is an expert on Sars-Cov-2 right now. Not a soul. It hasn't even entered the public and scientific conscience for a year. It takes years, if not decades, to truly become an expert. What we have right now are really smart experts in related diseases or fields trying to make reasonable inferences and work from there.

I keep trying to tell my wife not to get too caught up in raw data or click-baity headlines. It's far too easy to misinterpret even for the best minds right now due to unknown factors, and therefore not worth the wild emotional swings that lay people are too susceptible to.
