were in Bacalar (Mexico about 150 miles south of Cancun). Anyway we were staying at an Airbnb in a residential area. There was this mom and pop taco restaurant in one of the neighbor’s homes down the street. Best tacos al pastor I’ve ever had (and really good gringas as well). Anyway we ate there both nights we were there. However the last night while eating the cops showed up along with the local narco dudes both packing machine guns to pick up their “quota.” I guess the cops are in on it as well because they all showed up together. Scary, interesting and sad to have seen that. But also those tacos were absolutely the best I’ve ever had.
