This is a very underrated concept.
Shocking to me how many studio execs think trilogy as an afterthought.
Marvel learned from LOTR. Say what you will about marvel but it’s pretty cool they had a long range vision and planned things out at the beginning. They had an endpoint beyond $$$ in mind and made it work.
I sure wish Star Wars had done the same. Their endpoint was $$$. Not the story.
