Cougarboard needs to get off of their Conference affiliation delusions. . .
Starting off, a P5 conference is a great money advantage and helps with scheduling quality games. . . But seriously Utah's success is from them building a powerful and successful program while in the MWC. Thinking about it, they had better records, all their most memorable games, and better end of year rankings in the MWC than they have in the 12Pac.

There are several P5 schools that struggle and have done nothing but flounder inside P5 conferences. Then there are programs like Virginia Tech, Nebraska, and Arkansas . . . They moved on to "Better conferences" but look hapless and confused as of late, but were all considered national powers before the move. Similar to the NFL (Only 2 conferences) A team's prestige and success in college football is largely based on the program itself, and has little to do with their conference.

Seriously. . . are all the "Conference Affiliation is everything" crowd just trolling us? Say BYU did get invited to join the 12Pac or Big12. . . Who says that we would have more success, or would we just become another Oregon State? Another Arizona? Maybe we could become like mighty Kansas. or we could become like Colorado . . . 30 years ago they were national champs, and now with conferene swaps they play in a conference that the east coast still doesn't associate them with. They rarely play their biggest rival, and they announced a "standing room sell out game" against Arizona, when it was obvious that 30-40% of the seats were empty the entire game.

Looking at BYU, they have the facilities, the schedule, and every opportunity to succeed. But unlike other programs, we are just not getting it done on the field and dropping game to UMass at home.

TL;DR
