but about 8 inches smaller. The contractor we talked to said he'd just fill it in with wood and aluminum. Is that a good enough barrier for the outside of a basement window? My other concern is that it isn't too far from my well pump. Trying to avoid one of those contractor stories where i'm stuck years down the road trying to fix this if this is something that is kind of sketchy
