DL was so incapable of creating a pass rush, and so mediocre at stopping the run or containing QBs, that at times it felt like they weren’t even there.

If you’re going to drop back and play coverage you have to defend the run well. That’s the difference between what Tuiaki did last year and what Bronco did in the early days of the 3-4. Bronco didn’t generate a ton of pressure but we stopped the run so well that we ended up with a lot of 3rd and long anyway.

Last year it seemed like we were always in 3rd and 2 or 3, defensively.
