Don't be deceived by flashy feats of athleticism
I want the kid but he doesn't put the ball in the hoop often enough when he shoots to be special. I recommend folks keep themselves grounded. To be good he needs to be much more efficient. I hope he knows that and is committed to fewer shots, higher shooting percentage and more assists.

It is not abnormal for highly talented kids from small towns to never really adjust to team ball. They were so much more talented than most around them growing up that they could just dominate solo. Not only was it not necessary it was probably a better option to have him go solo because not only were his opponents significantly inferior to him but likely his teammates as well. Tough to learn to be a team player when all your teammates are much, much worse than you. Obviously, we all know now, including him, that he isn't talented enough to do this solo. Allen Iverson he is not. But making that change is a lot easier said than done. When you were everybody's rock star for 18 years and had the stats to prove it you start to believe your own hype.

I hope he chooses BYU and I hope Pope's persuasive logic, coaching ability and use of analytics helps the kid to really, really buy in. But I think he is getting a bit overhyped and folks are not real aware of his limitations.
