Pleasant Grove Ranger District- Recreation update for American Fork Canyon/Alpine Scenic Loop:
If you are looking to camp over this holiday weekend, choices in camping in American Fork Canyon will be limited.
Little Mill campground is open but sites are full for Friday-Monday.
Dispersed camping is available up Forest Service road #085 (Mineral Basin) first come, first serve, use the designated turnouts and park vehicles with all tires off the road. The Alpine Scenic Loop is open and the only campground open in that area will be Salamander Flat developed dispersed campground, first come- first serve (pass required).
Roadside camping is prohibited along SR-92/ Timpanogos Highway or SR-144 (North Fork to Tibble Fork Reservoir)
The gate accessing the dispersed campsites at Silver Lake Flat will remain closed until mid June. Forest Service road #056 (Timpooneke road) is closed until June due to snow.
Timpooneke, Granite Flat and Mt. Timpanogos campgrounds are scheduled to open June 5, 2020.
