After seeing zonacougar’s post with Lowell’s highlights, the following thoughts came to mind:
Considering Lowell is 6’10

1) quick release
2) passing skills
3) ball handling skills
4) quick
5) seeing the floor
6) movement without the ball
7) unlimited range

With that said, his game reminds me of two former Cougars. Unfortunately most of you may not have seen either play:

The first player matched all seven Points listed above:

1) often led fast breaks with his ball handling skills
2) once across half court, he was a threat to score via long-range, medium range or driving
3) great passer
4) etc.
Drafted by the Trailblazers, next year drafted by the Lakers and next year drafted by the Celtics. Voted into the Basketball Hall of Fame without playing in the NBA. Kresimir Cosic: 6’11

Player two didn’t possess all of the seven skills at the same level:

1) quick drive especially on the baseline
2) quick release
3) movement without the ball
4) ability to see the floor
5) passing skills

Not lacking, but less skill: Ball handling and limited range 10 - 15 feet

6’10 and experts stated that if Elder Durrant had played on the Elite Eight team (serving a mission during that season) BYU would have been the favorite to win it all.

I am not saying Lowell is the next Cosic or Durrant. But rather saying his skill sets remind me of these two players. Not bad company to keep.

Go Cougars!!!
