Maybe it's a mentality. An artist is primarily focused on the joy of doing something beautifully. A floor general is primarily interested in leading others, in bringing the group along willingly and enthusiastically towards a common goal.
The artist might be more inclined to make things happen given the existing reality, i.e he'll deal with whatever others are offering, while the leader would be more inclined to change others maybe even demand that they fit into his vision.
That's off the top of my head, my friend. So i might want to adjust those descriptions after thinking about it more.
What i know is, not every brilliant person values leading others. Effective leaders of large, complex groups value leading others. Personality type is way overrated for pretty much every type of work. Passion for the role will drive a person to make their own personality fit the work they love. Good artists and good leaders come in all personality types
