...physically ZW and Jaren Hall are very close and the only edge that ZW has over him currently is more experience. ZW might have an edge physically over Romney but when it comes to decision making, executing plays and putting teammates in position to make plays (better utilization of the talent around him) Romney looked more consistent.

I think the problem that some fans and at least one coach on the team has is they fall in love with the flashy QB play. Problem is, it's like fools gold and aside from a few sparkly moments we've seen that kind of QB play fall short in consistently delivering wins compared to the traditional pro-style pocket passer QB at BYU.

The Riley Nelson/Taysom Hill/Zach Wilson reactive, run around the backfield, try to extend plays and out run the defense type of QB doesn't win as big as the Max Hall/John Beck manage the pocket and keep their eyes downfield type at BYU. Also, I think we've seen clearly that the RN/TH/ZW type QB can't stay healthy and on the field consistently like the Max Hall/John Beck type. We've seen in all 3 cases that injuries to the mobile QB's has impaired their play on the field and significantly diminished their abilities leading to losses.
