Boeing stock remains a mystery to me
I’m mainly kicking myself for not jumping in, but feel free to tell me if my reasoning was wrong.

The first time was when the stock fell to roughly $100 a share. There really wasn’t any good news on the horizon, the market was still falling, the outlook for the airline industry was only getting worse. Then bam! The market jumped and BA in particular jumped to $150 in a blink. Dang, I missed it.

Then it slowly crept back down to between $120 and $130 and sat there for a while. Considering BA was trading for around $350 not that long ago, oh so tempting. But what’s the news out of Boeing? The 737 Max issue is still not resolved. The airline industry is still not looking for a full recovery any time soon. Orders for new planes are dropping like flies. Boeing is announcing thousands of layoffs. Did I miss anything?

And yet the stock has jumped from around $120 to over $180 in basically the last three weeks. Dang, I missed it again.

But why? Why is it soaring? Just what is the good news causing the jump? Seems there are still no good answers for all the issues they face.
