Will $80k release him? Can he afford to (not monetarily, but career-wise)?
Or will he make him burn the RS year? I can't see $80k releasing him from the LOI to go to BYU, or even elsewhere in the West. Will be interesting to see.
There was a player who committed to St. John's a couple of years ago, showed up for a day, and decided he had made the wrong choice and transferred to UConn. He had to use his redshirt year to transfer as St. John's wouldn't release him (and possibly couldn't where he had enrolled in class).

Yeah, but the buyout goes down each year. Eventually it'll be low enough to be within reason. Gotta keep it high.
