doesn't really need him that badly, considering the talent here in the near term and the fertile recruiting options under Pope. Lohner is a gamer, no question, but certainly they wouldn't go near him if anything was close to "bush league."
Doubt this would be a problem anywhere else. But $80's known petulance, his inclination raise a scene, and the rivalry, could bring out Trump era false accusations.
If it were anyone else, we could assume that officials would take the word of the players and administrators involved that it was clean deal, motivated by Lohner realizing that he had made a foolish decision in signing with the Utes.
Let's face it. This is BYU and we have Pope as coach who is setting the Nation on fire. What gifted player wouldn't want to play here if they had any traditional BYU connection?
But with $80K, we have an undignified soul. So expect a boatload of phony charges. Hopefully, the non BYU media in the State will look at it and be fair minded enough to discredit the charges.
BTW, i have no knowledge at all that a BYU deal is in the works. For all i know, Lohner plans to go elsewhere.
