external forces keeping us out of big bowls etc. under the prior staff and we still stayed relevant. I'm not disputing that P5 school have a big advantage--but it's been that way for a long time and BYU still had much more success. I don't "refuse" to say life is eaiser as a P5, but it's also true there are MANY P5's that are still terrible---it isn't some once your "in" then every problem is solved. BYU is 12-13 vs. G5 teams right now---lack of P5 status shouldn't be the scapegoat for that---it's well below the bar of expectations at BYU.
Everyone just wants to point fingers and focus solely at all the external stuff (which has existed for some time) when the internal product has plenty of work to do. If BYU wants to improve they should look in the mirror before expecting external forces to suddenly make them relevant again.
