For several years our 14 yr old unuttered dog was treated for enlarged prostate.
No big deal. He took cheap medication for a couple of weeks about once a year and it shrunk until the next year or so. That was it. Healthiest overall dog I’ve ever had and had puppy like energy his whole life. Started having seizures one day out of the blue and we put him down. Never was aggressive or escaped the yard. Vet said unuttered males are usually much healthier overall when they get older despite some risk for prostate or testicular cancers/problems. I’d say if you're a good dog trainer, you don’t plan on getting a second dog, and have a secure yard you might have a healthier dog if he stays intact.
