I was in first or second grade and there was a new kid in our class after winter break. I always tried to talk to the new kids, and so upon talking to him I learned quickly he was a BYU fan which was great. We talked and hung out more the next couple days at school but it quickly became apparent that the kid was incredibly weird and NOT someone I wanted to spend any more time with. At the height of my realization I thought to myself "I wish he wasn't a BYU fan" because I just couldn't stand that a kid like him was wearing BYU gear. I didn't want people to associate him with me when we both wore BYU gear to school.
