I think the players receive 51% or 49% (something like that) of whatever the
total basketball related income happens to be. My understanding is that the salaries that we see on the internet actually fluctuate up and down depending on how much actual revenue comes through the doors. So if the NBA does really good one year, then the owners don't get to pocket that extra money. They would distribute (prorated?) the extra money among the players. Note: I could be way off on the details but regardless, the players are entitled to a defined percentage of the revenue however they determine that.
