I wondered about this aspect. I told Bob that he should not ask for anything or give any answer to the suggestion. If she wants to gift him some money for all the things he does for her (including the investments), she can certainly do that within the law. At least that was my take. I’m not sure it would matter if that was $15K for 5 years or something like that. I don’t know how that could create a legal issue since there was never a payment for 10 years and no request or bill or set amount by Bob. But please correct me if I am wrong in this thinking. I certainly don’t want to give bad advice and I don’t want to create any legal issues for anyone.
