I was really surprised that Heather stuck w her last season as a back row player. It made no sense to me. Heather's a better coach than that, so I really questioned if there wasn't something political going on.

While I'm very disappointed w the expansive role Heather tried to get out of Mady, as strictly an OH, I think the yewts will find her a schollie. She probably doesn't have a star OH in her, but she's still a nice piece to have in the rotation. So long as she's not trying to play beyond her means. I highly doubt Heather pushed her out, so I'm assuming Mady had too much pride to accept a more limited role here — & preferred to play her limited role out w the yewts instead.

Oh well. A loss, sure — but the much bigger loss regarding Mady is the one in the books, unfortunately. We had the talent to make a good run last year, & just didn't play to our strengths. Not in the way we've come to expect from Heather. Watching the yewts hand it to us like they did — unfortunately didn't surprise me one bit. We had been digressing pretty badly as a team for over a month, while they had been clearly climbing since our impressive win at their place. And breaking our back trying to accommodate Mady as a six rotation player was the oddly clear root of our whole digression. We should've seen more of Wee & Grimmer (& maybe Dayton) instead. You could tell it was probably Heather's worst locker room situation that she'd had in a while. A few girls were not happy, & frankly, you could see why they were reasonably upset.
