This is a gross generalization, but I find that they're generally gimmicky and

too narrow in their scope. I'm thinking about books like Deep Work, Leadership and Self Deception, Crucial Conversations, and Relentless: From Good to Great to Unstoppable. These books talk about great principles--but they do a poor job of linking the principles back to human biology/psychology. The high level concepts make sense, but the books were too general and lacked detail. 


Atomic Habits fits in that genre, but it seemed different to me.
