Just had this thought for the first time regarding 1984.
If a person was born the day after the final polls came out with BYU at #1, then they were born January 3, 1985. That person would be 35 years, 6 months, and 5 days old today.

If that person had a child born 9 months after their eighteenth birthday, that child would have been born on October 3, 2003. That person would be right on the line of graduating from high school in either 2021 (if they're on the younger end of their class) or 2022.

Basically, this year is the last year that you can state with any reasonable degree of certainty that every member of the freshmen class at BYU had parents who were alive when BYU won their national title. 2021's freshman class is probably pretty safe too, but 2022 is the beginning of the end of saying "that was during my parents' time" and the start of "that was during my grandparents' time"

Bring on the thumbs down. 🙂
