A friend’s son plays baseball for the U of Houston.
They were told this week that they will not play anyone out of conference this Spring OUTSIDE the state of Texas. This is a G5/AAC school.

If in fact you’re right and the “flexibility“ of Indy is a benefit (I disagree with that statement) we would likely have to agree to 8-10 road games IF somehow conference teams would agree to play us. At that point you run the risk of being shamed for putting money ahead of your athletes by chasing games which we’re already starting to hear rumblings of.

Cost of travel for the G5 teams will be a major issue and no fans, no concessions and even declined enrollment based on “Gap” years being taken will exacerbate that problem.

Conference only is looking more and more likely whether it’s in the Fall or in the Spring. We are in an awful position.

The only way I see this helping BYU is if the liberal controlled states do not allow their teams to play and there are conferences willing to allow us to fill in here and there...we might even be able to pull a home game or two out of this scenario. This might happen in the Fall but my guess is after the election it won’t happen in the Spring because by then politically there will be no advantage to continuing a shutdown.
