The benefits of these sports is hard to define and often very, very limited.

The costs are large and very clear.

I won't be surprised if we see them cut, turned into club sports, at many institutions.

It makes me sad. . . but I am also pretty unwilling to put my own money into supporting non-revenue sports, so. . . .
