When I read about that war, both what caused it and how it played out, I think
of the last scene in Burn After Reading. I'd link it here, but it has a fair amount of cussing. J.K. Simmons plays a CIA (or FBI, I can't remember) chief. A lot of stuff went down in the film and it was all caused by a bunch of misunderstandings. Simmons' character is talking to a colleague and asks, "What did we learn?" His colleague replies that he doesn't know and they both agree that they don't know what they learned. Simmons' character then says, "I guess we learned not to do it again." And followed it up by saying he isn't even sure what it is they did.
