doesn't make sense. So we play NMSU, UMASS, Liberty and other independents a few times each. How does that make economic sense? If no one is in the stands, does BYU get much revenue if the game is shown on ESPN? What networks are going to pay much for people to see these games? Not much, is my bet. I would think ESPN would reduce its payout to BYU under its contract, based upon the circumstances. The cost/benefit analysis doesn't seem to make sense to play 8 or 9 games against other independents, but perhaps I'm missing something.
