I figured out our problem - the vent was completely detached from dryer hose. Good grief.
The lint and moisture has been pouring into the laundry room this whole time. The wall behind the dryer was practically stained with lint.
Now that I have it connected properly, there’s almost no moisture in the laundry room and it’s much quieter.
