Shouldn't be any issues with bouncing. Any bike gets more beat up
Riding in a trail than on a rack.

Stability isn't an issue with the rack. If you get it installed correctly, it isn't an issue with the hitch either.

"Bottoming out" is a whole different issue. I have seen some tent trailers that are pretty low to the ground. If you have a really low tent trailer, you could put a riser in the receiver, so your bike carrier sits up higher than the bottom of your trailer. Or, get a bike carrier that sits high, not one of the ones that comes straight back and you stand you bikes on.
