At the current rate of spread, there's really very little chance college football can happen. Too high a probability that a lot of players will be getting it during the season, causing a domino effect of disruptions that are totally unmanageable.
Shortening the season down to conferences games makes the odds that football can happen slight greater, but still pretty low. Unless infection rates dramatically drop off, with no second wave, CFB will not happen in 2020. Canceling non-conference games is just the first step.
