You could have four regional groups within the MPFF and limit the travel and the potential virus spread while still giving everyone in the West a decent chance at a fall 2020 football schedule.
CALIFORNIA/NEVADA Group: Stanford, Cal, USC, UCLA, SDSU, Fresno, SJSU, Nevada, UNLV
FRONT RANGE Group: Wyoming, CSU, Colorado, Air Force, New Mexico, NMSU, UTEP
MOUNTAIN Group: BYU, Utah, Utah St., Arizona, ASU
NORTHWEST Group: Washington, Wazzu, Oregon, OSU, Boise State
(I left out Hawaii, but you could add them to the CALIFORNIA/NEVADA or NORTHWEST Group, if desired.
You could come up with some flexible 8-10 game schedules while focusing most games within the regional groups and include some same-season 2-game home-away matchups among rivals and other proximate schools. Minimal cross-over among the groups, focused on same conference matchups - like Oregon-Stanford and Arizona-UCLA, that kind of thing.
