1300 sq. ft. basement: how much would I save between 1) doing it myself, 2) contracting individual parts, 3) paying one
contractor to just do the whole thing?
I figure there's basically:
1) Framing
2) HVAC/Electrical
3) Insulation
4) Drywall
5) Finish - i.e. carpet, paint, trim, baseboards, etc.
Of course, then the bathroom. But I've been told to hire a contractor would be about $25 a square foot if they do the whole project, but a little cheaper if I just do it one "phase" at a time if I'm not in a rush (basically each of the above sections just done by me finding the individual contractor for that part). Then there's doing it myself, which would take me forever.
