Not sure I agree with that — neutral maybe. Net positive for society? Seems very unlikely. Comparing playing games to reading a good novel or going for a walk is silly. I don't get the business about making friends playing games. Teenagers, okay, but grown men who make friends playing games online seem far more likely to fall in the evils of wasting time, failure to launch camp than the functioning members of society camp.
