In my mind, even paying off my mortgage isn’t life changing because I’ll still go to work at the same job, my wife will stay home with the kids. I selected the amount of money it would take for me to fundamentally alter the way I live (e.g., find a job/activity where I don’t worry about the money). Something like FI/RE type of money.
